Accounts Receivable Accountant (Wemmel)

For one of our clients, an international organisation located near Brussels (region Asse, Zellik, Wemmel), we are looking for an AR Accountant.

Tasks

- You prepare, post and review client invoices and bank statements on a timely basis with the support of an Assistant Accountant
- You prepare the monthly closing documents
- Prepare of account reconciliations and handle intercompany invoices as well as expense payments as required
- Post all expenses into the system on a timely basis
- Supervise and review work of 1 to 2 accounting direct reports
- Perform credit analysis and collection procedures
- Complete VAT tasks
- You report to the Accounting Manager and assist him/her with ad hoc requests
- Identify ways to improve processes and be engaged in implementation of improvements
- Communicate with suppliers, customers, consultants, and other company employees on issues and discrepancies
- Make/maintain copies of documentation as required
- You are backup for the Accounts Payable accountant

Profile

- You have a bachelors degree in Accountancy
- You have at least 3 years working experience in an accounting environment including monthly closing of books, preferably with Accounts Receivables and expense notes and with a good insight into VAT matters
- Ability to supervise staff of 1 or 2 employees
- Fluent in English and Dutch. Good knowledge of French is an asset
- Strong computer skills with expertise in excel
- You work precise, punctual and deliver qualitative work
- Teamplayer with sense of responsibility
- Ability to adapt to change and provide solutions to accounting and finance issues
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines
